SCM Labs is committed to involvement in the SCM and Development community, and furthering the role and understanding of effective SCM in the software industry.
We are currently members or officers of these organizations, and encourage
your interest and participation. Web links are included for further
information.
The Agile Alliance
The Agile Alliance was chartered by most of the founders of the Agile
movement and is dedicated to "promoting the concepts of agile software
development." As a
member of the alliance, SCM Labs stays on the forefront of the Agile movement and
frequently participates in the furthering of the movement.
Authors of the SCM Patterns book
Steve Berczuk and Brad Appleton co-authored "Software Configuration
Management Patterns", a truly Agile book on SCM. The content
primarily focuses on the Version Management portions of SCM
with a slant towards "truly effective" solutions. The book is
a very easy read and one that no CM Manager or development lead
should be without. Steve, Brad and Steve Konieczka from SCM Labs
are currently collaborating on the monthly column in
CM Crossroads on
SCM as it relates to the Agile Development movement.
The Association for Configuration and Data Management
The Association for Configuration
and Data Management (ACDM) was founded in 1991 as a national professional
organization for people and companies involved in configuration, data and
change management in the software products and services industry.
SCM Labs President Steve Konieczka is sits on the Board of Governers for
ACDM, is an active member of the conference committee and is the Membership Chair.
National Association of IT Change Management
The mission of National Association of
IT Change Management (NAITCM) is to "advance the concepts and practices
of configuration, change, and problem management in the Information Technology
infrastructure. By so doing, help practitioners become more knowledgeable and
skilled in professional practices and enhance their capacity to deliver
quality IT service."
SCM Labs' CEO Scott Lehman helped found the NAITCM. SCM Labs is still very
active in the association.
